What does the project do?

TrashBack incentivises people living in impoverished communities to clean up their surrounding area and properly manage waste through recycling. Participants bring recyclable materials to a central depot, where they earn tBucks per weight of recyclables. Our rewards program encourages responsible spending as participants can spend their tBucks on beneficial items, such as food and clothing. It also supports the local economy as we partner with local businesses to redeem tBucks.

What happens without it?

Much recyclable waste ends up on the streets of these communities, where it poses severe health, safety and environmental hazards. Furthermore, recyclables would be taken to landfill, resulting in further environmental impact and wasted potential.

What are you funding?

The project is operational and you will be funding the rewards for recycling collectors.
